Daniel has been with Columbia University for over 10 years working in various positions at the Universities Medical Center & Morningside Campus. As Associate Director of Finance and Grants Management for the Institute, he works closely with the Director of Operations, managing the financial aspects of the institute, including setting up the financial structure of the Data Science Institute, assisting with sponsored project proposal budgets, coordinating with the Institutes centers on their financial needs and other day-to-day financial matters.
Prior to joining the Data Science Institute, Daniel started his career with Columbia at the Department of Surgery, CUMC, as a Laboratory Manager, handling laboratory compliance. He then joined the Center for Computational Learning Systems (CCLS) in the School of Engineering in 2005. During his tenure at CCLS, he honed his skills in grants management while also handling other administrative and financial aspects of the center.
Daniel attended SUNY New Paltz and has also completed certifications in Government Contact Compliance Training from Ernst & Young & Columbia’s Office of Research Compliance, Sponsored Project Certification Program.
