Chee Wei Wong is an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Columbia Engineering. His research examines the control of light in nanostructures, and has appeared in leading scientific journals such as Nature, Nature Photonics, Physical Review Letters, and Nano Letters. Wong, who joined Columbia in 2004, has received several awards including the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2007, the NSF CAREER Award in 2008, and the 3M Faculty Award in 2009. Wong has received 10 awarded patents, with 10 pending patents. He received his Ph.D. in 2003 and master’s in 2001, both from MIT, and a B.A. and B.S. from University of California, Berkeley.
