Elliot Sorkin creates interactive experiences to launch new programs at Columbia University. He first connected with Columbia in 2008, designing web applications and user interfaces, before transitioning to the Data Science Institute in 2013, developing a website for corporate partners to login and showcase their interaction with Columbia; over 20 affiliates joined since creating this website. Over the years, Elliot expanded his creative services to help launch and grow new academic, industry, and research programs across print and digital platforms; a targeted ad campaign in career guides raised the application rate from those schools by 85% in 2017.
Elliot's background is in entertainment graphic design and has managed cross media advertising campaigns for some of his favorite musicians including Guns N' Roses and Bob Dylan. His experience in art directing outside of Columbia ranges from camera lenses and coconut openers to medical spas and guitar pedals. When away from the computer, Sorkin loves sailing, drums, and rock&roll.
