AI, Education, and the Future: An Undergraduate Student Forum

October 29, 2025
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
America/New_York
Schapiro CEPSR, 530 W. 120 St., New York, NY 10027 Davis Auditorium

Share your thoughts and concerns on how AI is affecting you and your coursework at this open-mic style forum. Facilitated by the Data Science Institute and co-led with student groups, these town halls are a space for students to raise questions, share ideas, and voice concerns about how AI is–and isn’t–being integrated into your educational experience. Themes from the event will be generated to  help shape how we collectively think about AI at Columbia.

This event is part of a year-long focus on AI and Education, which will include a two-day conference in Spring 2026. More details about the conference will be shared soon.

REGISTER

This event is open only to current Columbia University undergraduate students. If you are a graduate student, please register for the Graduate Student Town Hall on Wednesday, October 8.

Code of Conduct: This event is built on the idea that all participants are equals in inquiry. We ask that everyone engage with mutual respect, especially when disagreements arise. Differences of opinion are welcome, but no participant should ever be the subject of disparaging remarks. Capturing audio or video recordings, or posting comments or content from the Town Hall on any digital platform is prohibited for the safety and privacy of all participants.

Notes and Recording: To encourage open dialogue, these town halls will not be recorded. Instead, designated scribes will capture key points from the discussion–without identifiable attribution–and share notes afterward. This approach allows that ideas are documented while protecting the privacy and comfort of all participants.

Student-Only Space: These Town Hall sessions are reserved exclusively for students in order to promote candor and honesty.
