Lunch & Learn: Designing for Integrity and Learning in the Age of AI

September 11, 2026
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Butler Library, 535 W. 114 St., New York, NY 10027 203 Butler Library

How can we teach and design courses to promote academic integrity and deepen student learning – particularly in a world increasingly shaped by generative AI?

Join us for an interactive lunch workshop where we will explore practical strategies for designing your courses and assignments to proactively foster academic integrity and minimize opportunities for academic dishonesty.

Co-led by the Director of Academic Integrity, Dr. Victoria Malaney-Brown, we will begin by exploring effective ways to communicate with students about the value and importance of academic integrity as a part of their learning journey. Next, we will delve into design principles for preventing academic dishonesty before it occurs, focusing on pedagogical choices that encourage genuine engagement and learning. Finally, we will discuss strategies to respond to academic dishonesty should it arise.

Over lunch, connect with colleagues to share innovative teaching and reflect together on how to  navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by generative AI.

Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP so we might have enough food.
